On Sunday afternoon, October 28, 2012, children of all ages are invited to participate in the Annual Lambertville Halloween Parade.
For over 75 years, this parade has been made possible through the generous donations of area organizations and businesses.
Registration has never been easier. Again, this year, on-line registration is available at www.halloween08530.com. Simply click the “Register Now” button and fill in each item. Review your entry, and be sure to finish your registration by selecting “Confirm”. Note the number your entry has been assigned so that when you arrive at Mary Sheridan Park on the day of the parade, you can use the Express Registration line to pick up your number to wear in the parade! On-line registration will end on Saturday, October 27 at 5:00 pm.
On-site registration will be available at Mary Sheridan Park, George and York Streets, on Sunday, October 28 from 2:00-2:45 pm.
Categories for this year include: Classic Halloween, Comic, Fancy Dress, Fictional Characters, Historic, Impersonations, Original, Duos, and Groups.
Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place in each category.

In addition, there will be the following special prizes: Best in Parade, Most Creative, Most Artistic, Most Patriotic, Best Representation of a Famous Person, Best Representation of a Person from Movies or TV, Best Homemade Costume, Best Use of Recycled Materials, and the Dorothy Kitchen Memorial Award.
The Parade will assemble on York Street at 2:45 pm, and step off promptly at 3:00 pm. The marchers will proceed west along York Street, turn right, and march up North Union Street to Perry Street. They will continue east on Perry Street, cross Main Street, and enter the Little League Field where the judging will be held. Only parade participants will be allowed inside the Little League fence. All spectators are cordially invited to sit on the bleachers and observe from outside the fence.
Refreshments and a Halloween treat will be available for all participants after they have passed by the judges’ table. Prize winners will be posted at City Hall in the late afternoon on Monday, October 29, 2012.
The numbers of the prize winners will also be published in The Beacon. All winners must claim their prize by bringing their number to City Hall before Friday, November 16, 2012.
Coordinators for this year’s parade are Pam Baker, Sharon Burd, Mary Freedman, Muriel Meserve, and Cheryl Pittore. Anyone wishing to assist with registration or organization should phone either Muriel Meserve at 397-1214 or City Hall at 397-0110.
In case of rain, all activities will take place in the All-Purpose Room of the Lambertville Public School at the times noted.
Trick or Treating will take place from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 31.
North Union Street will be closed to all traffic from York to Buttonwood Streets from 5:00 pm until about 8:30 pm. All cars parked on North Union Street prior to the start of Trick or Treating will only be permitted to move in the event of an emergency. Residents are strongly encouraged to move their vehicles prior to the street closure, because they may not be able to move cars for safety reasons, once Trick or Treating starts.
