The affordable certificate program assists in developing a mastery of human resource practices, policies and principles and the knowledge and skills needed to meet challenges in today’s changing workplace. The curriculum consists of six courses based on the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) body of knowledge.

The program is designed for those both new to human resource functions and those with experience who wish to broaden their knowledge and improve their skills.

The program begins in the Fall of 2012 and the cost of each class is $195. The courses consist of Introduction to Human Resources and Strategic Management, Workforce Planning and Employment, and Employee and Labor Relations, which will be held during the Fall Semester, and Compensation and Benefits, Human Resource Development, and Occupational Health, Safety and Security, which will be held during the Spring Semester.

There are four sessions per course that meet once a week, all beginning at 6:00 pm. Participants receive a certificate of completion for each course and do not need to enroll in the full certificate program to benefit from the courses.
